TOP 3 FAMILY FRIENDLY CITY BREAKS

City breaks with the kids can be a daunting prospect; but if done right, they can be a perfect family bonding experience and a great first glimpse into other cultures for the little ones. So, this summer why not pack your suitcases and jet off to one of these stunning city destinations as a family?

Barcelona with the kids

As well as being a winning destination for adults, Barcelona has a lot to offer children too. Whether your little ones are into football, science, the seaside or amusement parks, Barcelona has something for them to enjoy.

Tibidabo amusement park offers rollercoasters and rides for young children, as well as jaw-dropping panoramic views for the adults. Or, if you’re travelling with the next Lionel Messi, why not take a walk in his famous footsteps at FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Experience. Finally, there’s nothing kids love more than the seaside. Bogatell beach has an array of beach restaurants, whilst Escribà has a skate park, basketball nets and lots of other families. So, grab some colourful suitcases, such as our Tequila Sunrise IT luggage collection, which include a range of sizes to suit every single member of your family, and get ready for a weekend of fun.

Paris with the kids

Whilst Paris might be all about romance for couples, for kids, France’s capital means one thing only; Disneyland! Naturally, Disneyland Paris is a must-do with the kids if possible. With thrilling rides, exciting attractions and famous Disney characters at every corner, the parks will keep them entertained for hours – just remember that all of those cute souvenirs take up space, so you might want to take an extra cheap suitcase to put in the hold on the way home if you’re planning to bring lots of gifts back.  That said, there are lots of other family-friendly things to see and do in the city of love! Take a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower and see the city in all her beauty, or book an artisan Chocolate Tasting Tour at Saint-Germain-des-Pres so the whole family can enjoy the sweetest, most delicious three hours of your life!

Brighton with the kids

A fun-filled city break doesn’t always have to involve an aeroplane; instead, why not enjoy some of the UK’s beauty with a trip to the seaside? Not only is Brighton just a short drive down the motorway for many families in the South East of England, you can take as much or as little luggage as you wish depending on the length of your stay.  Brighton’s Palace Pier may be the city’s most iconic landmark, but it’s also a child’s paradise! From funfair rides to arcades; candyfloss to dance machines, and everything in between, there’s no end of things for kids to enjoy at the famous Brighton beach. If your children are a little older, why not think about hiring a kayak or stand up paddleboard and take to the waves between the Palace Pier and the West Pier, then relax in one of the many family friendly beach bars or cafes whilst watching the sun go down on the city.

At TJ Hughes, we understand that the key to a great family city break is preparation, which is why our range of affordable suitcases and accessories come in a range of sizes so even the smallest members of your family can keep what’s important to them close by.
